Voting Stations Outside Of The Republic Of South Africa In The Upcoming 2024 Elections

Kindly note that the Electoral Act limits voting stations outside the Republic of South Africa to Embassies, High Commission, and Consulates.

There is no provision empowering the IEC or the Department of International Relations and Cooperation to establish voting stations beyond missions. Therefore, all eligible voters in Australia will cast their votes in person at the South African High Commission in Canberra.

To be eligible to vote you will need to be a South African National, 18 years or older and have registered for voting with the IEC. On the day of voting, you will be required to produce your valid South African passport as well as your South African green barcoded ID book or smart card.
